I have been hearing about a local ice cream shop on Little Farmers Cay, and to be honest that was the main reason I wanted to go there. It is also a less touristy Bahamian community, which we were interested in checking out. We sailed down with our friends and met up for a beautiful hike to an interesting cave that was full of bats, weird shrimp, and some brave spelunkers who came prepared with all the cave exploration gear like wetsuits, lights, and dive equipment. We sat around the edges of the cave and watched them, marveling at their ability to just dive straight into the deep darkness of the tunnels and caves.

We were disappointed to learn that the ice cream shop was closed, and the owner was off-island with some health issues. Our only other option was a little restaurant/bar that our friends had been to last year and watched hermit crab races…. They had some freezer burned Rocky Road which wasn’t quite what I had been dreaming of, but it was still a treat. We hiked around and the boys found a tiny house where a man carves wood statues and decor by hand from the trees in the area.

We ended our time on Little Farmer’s Cay with a happy hour on the beach and a sunset game of football with the SV Grace family. The next morning before we left, Jackson, Morris, and I took a last trip to the beach where we picked up some beautiful sea glass and Jackson spotted an octopus in the tide pools.
