We sailed with our new friends on Adiona to an anchorage off of Gun Cay, where we found a wonderful, private little cove with a reef and rays who would approach and let you pet them. Jackson harvested a conch for us and we planned to make ceviche.
We would have stayed longer in this sweet spot, but the crossing to Chub Cay that we were planning was a factor. The crossing includes two days on open water, and we planned to anchor mid-way overnight. With no shore protection, it would be really rough with high winds that were predicted, so we decided to sail out to beat the weather. The winds never came up that high after all, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
